Beginning therapy can feel like a big step, especially when life feels overwhelming, uncertain, or difficult to manage on your own. Benjamin Santee believes that therapy should be a place where you feel heard, respected, and understood. His goal is to create a compassionate and supportive environment where you can be yourself, explore what you are experiencing, and work toward meaningful change at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
Benjamin graduated from Spring Arbor University with a Master of Arts in Counseling in 2014 and is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Michigan. He has extensive experience working with individuals facing a variety of challenges, including addiction and behavioral concerns, anxiety and depression, relationship and interpersonal difficulties, grief and loss, and significant life adjustments.
Benjamin approaches therapy collaboratively, recognizing that each person brings their own experiences, values, strengths, and goals into the counseling process. He believes you are the expert on your own life, and his role is to provide support, perspective, and professional guidance as you work toward the changes you want to make. He offers unconditional positive regard and strives to create a therapeutic relationship built on trust, compassion, and respect.
Together, Benjamin and his clients work to better understand the challenges they are facing while developing practical skills and strategies that can be used beyond the therapy room. Whether you are struggling with something that has been present for a long time or simply finding yourself in a season of life that feels difficult to navigate, Benjamin believes that meaningful change is possible. You do not have to have everything figured out before reaching out for help—you simply have to be willing to take the first step.
